Modeling Time-Triggered Architecture Based Real-Time Systems Using SystemC
This paper proposes a SystemC based extension for the modeling of TimeTriggered Architecture (TTA) based real-time embedded systems. The extension called Executable Time-Triggered Model (E-TTM) supports the time-triggered model of computation and provides a time domain deterministic modeling framework based on SystemC. E-TTM can be used from the architectural design phase to support early funct...
متن کاملBounds on Test Effort for Event-Triggered Real-Time Systems
The test effort required for full test coverage is much higher in event-triggered than in time-triggered real-time systems. Thus, it is hard to attain sufficient confidence in the correctness of event-triggered real-time applications by testing. We present a general upper bound on the test effort of constrained event-triggered real-time systems, assuming multiple resources (a refinement of prev...
متن کاملEVENT - TRIGGERED ENVIRONMENTS FOR VERIFICATION OF REAL - TIME SYSTEMS Darren
The growing complexity and the safety-critical requirements of the embedded software in avionics systems present many challenges to current test-based verification technology. The use of formal verification methods can increase design assurance by exploring a larger range of system behaviors and fault conditions than can feasibly be covered by testing or simulation. However, one of the most cha...
متن کاملSix Issues in Testing Event-Triggered Real-Time Systems
Verification of real-time systems is a complex task, with problems coming from issues like concurrency. A previous paper suggested dealing with these problems by using a time-triggered design, which gives good support both for testing and formal analysis. However, a time-triggered solution is not always feasible and an event-triggered design is needed. Event-triggered systems are far more diffi...
متن کاملThe Babbling Idiot in Event-triggered Real-time Systems
We present an approach to detecting ‘babbling’ faulty nodes on a bus by using a bus guardian to listen to previous messages and deduce a window during which future messages should appear. In general, one cannot detect all erroneous messages, but the messages that are incorrectly classified can be bounded, and therefore can be taken this into account when doing worst case response time analysis.
